My name is Veit, and I'm a localization engineer for the German group. In my position with National Instruments, I test localized software for correct functionality and review the translated documentation of products to verify the technical correctness. While working on the localization of training courses I also support our translators in the process of creating localized course materials. I also create tools which help to simplify the localization process. NI has such a wide range of products and I know that I have barely scratched the surface. I want to learn much more about how the products work and what they can be used for.

I like working at NI because of the very friendly work environment. I especially enjoy working as part of the localization group because it is very interesting to work with people of so many nationalities.

Here are some of the things I do in a typical week:

  • Monday: Test the localized software
  • Tuesday: Meet with some team members and finish testing the software
  • Wednesday: Attend a demo and develop a piece of software
  • Thursday: Test a Customer Education course project and report issues to stakeholders
  • Friday: Test and have fun with Lego

I also enjoy attending the localization monthly birthday party with the entire group.
